The geography of Greece limited the Greeks interaction with each other because of all the physical boundaries separating the Greek city states they never had very good connections or interactions. This is the main reason so many different governments were formed in Greece, and at times there was conflict between the Greeks because they didn't see themselves as one for being Greek they more associated with their city state (Athens and sparta as two examples)
