The reforms were thorough and covered all segments of that institution. Edward VI decided to change the interior of the church as well. The Reformers advocated a more modest church, so the king acted in that direction. He decided to remove the precious and lavish paintings from the church. The king also removed expensive furniture and added much simpler and more modest furniture. The luxurious painting was forbidden in churches.
