An oxygen atom alone will have 6 valence electrons (outermost electrons). A hydrogen atom each has 1 electron in its outermost shell to share with the oxygen. For oxygen to have a filled outer shell, it will take one electron from each of the two hydrogens into it's outer shell. This means, the number of electrons in its valence shell will be the original amount of electrons oxygen has by itself plus 1 electron from each hydrogen atom. This will form a water molecule H_2O

A macrophage may engulf a pathogen by endocytosis, which involves the reorganization of actin microfilaments in the membrane and microtubules in the cytoskeleton.

What is endocytosis?

Endocytosis is a cellular process by which a cell can absorb materials from the surrounding medium, such as viruses and bacteria in the case of macrophages.

Microfilaments and microtubules are proteins that form part of the cytoskeleton and dynamic conformational changes of them are associated with the cytoskeletal rearregement during the phagocytic process.

The actin microfilaments in the membrane and microtubules in the cytoskeleton form part of the process of endocytosis because they need to reorganize during cell movement.

In conclusion, a macrophage may engulf a pathogen by endocytosis, which involves the reorganization of actin microfilaments in the membrane and microtubules in the cytoskeleton.

Which of the following could be found on either public or private land?
Reptile [31]
The option that could be found on either public or private land is C. mine. A state park can only be found on public land, because parks are owned by states, not regular people. A single-family residence is only found on private land, because that is a house that a family owns. A factory is on private land only, because it belongs to a person or another company. Which leaves us with mines, that can be found both on private and public lands.

The adrenal medulla is stimulated to release catecholamines during sympathetic autonomic nervous responses. True or False
forsale [732]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

Catecholamines refer to the hormones produced by the adrenal gland present on the upper side of the kidney. The catecholamine hormone includes the epinephrine, norepinephrine and the dopamine.

During stress conditions, the sympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system gets activated which leads to the release of the norepinephrine from the postganglionic neurons and the prolonged-release leads to the release of the adrenaline from the adrenal glands.

Thus, true is the correct answer.
