Answer: Option 'C' is correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Let the principal amount be 'x'.

First rate of interest = 2%

Second rate of interest = 4%

Number of years = 1

Amount of interest he earned = $92

According to question,

\dfrac{x\times 2}{100}+\dfrac{(x+800)\times 4}{100}=92\\\\\dfrac{2}{100}(x+2(x+800))=92\\\\x+2x+1600=\dfrac{92\times 100}{2}\\\\3x+1600=4600\\\\3x=4600-1600\\\\3x=3000\\\\x=\dfrac{3000}{x}\\\\x=\$1000

So, First investment of $1000 at 2% and Second investment of $1000+$800=$1800 at 4%.

Hence, Option 'C' is correct.

X the first account  interest = x/100*2 = 2x/100
(x + 800)/100 * 4 =( 4x + 3200)/100
2x/100 + (4x + 3200)/100 = 92
2x + 4x + 3200 = 9200
6x = 6000
x = 1000
C is the answer

A submarine is at -125 feet in the ocean. The submarine makes 3 dives of 50 feet each. At what level is the submarine after thre
iren2701 [21]
Each dive goes further down, so it represents -50 ft (not positive which would represnt going up).

y= -125-50x

We know that there are 3 dives so plug that in for x
y= -125-50(3)
y= -125-150
y= -275

Final answer: -275 ft

The value of x is ___, and the value of y is ___. <br><br> Please help me out! Thanks! <br> :)
vagabundo [1.1K]
The value of x is 60, as you wrote. The sum of all angles in a triangle is 180°.

The sum of all angles on a straight line is also 180°. So to find y, solve for the third angle of the triangle on the left.

50 + 60 = 110. 180-110 = 70°.

Now we know 2 of the 3 angles along the line (70° and x, 60°)

70 + 60 + y = 180
130 + y = 180
y = 50

Hope this helps. LMK if you have questions.
