well u move all the variables to the left side, so 8x is already in the left but 7x isnt so you move 7x to the left side of the equal sign which makes 7x to -7x.

8x-2-7x=-9

you move the -2 to the right side of the equal sign which becomes +2.

8x-7x=-9+2

you do the math which 8x-7x=1x and -9+2=-7

so.... 1x=-7

and x=-7. Make sure to always combine like terms.

To make sure it is correct replace the x with the -7 and

8(-7)-2=-9+7(-7)

-56-2=-9-49

-58=-58

so x= -7

In going to move constants to one side and variables to another by adding and subtracting.

8x -2 + 2 - 7x = -9 + 2 + 7x -7x

8x -7x = -9 + 2
Now solve

X = -7

A rancher constructs two rectangular horse pastures that share a side, as shown. The pastures are enclosed by 1050 feet of fenci
noname [10]
The complete question in the attached figure

we know that
area each pasture=15000 ft²
area each pasture=x*y
so
15000=x*y-----> equation 1

perimeter two rectangular pastures=1050 ft
perimeter two rectangular pastures=2*[2x+y]+y----> 4x+2y+y---> 4x+3y
so
1050=4x+3y----> divide by 3----> 1050/3=(4/3)x+y
clear variable y
y=350-(4/3)x-----> equation 2

the answer part a)
y=350-(4/3)x------> <span>it was proved
</span>
Part b)Find the possible lengths and widths of each pasture.
substitute equation 2 in equation 1
15000=x*y-----> 15000=x*[350-(4/3)x]
15000=350x-(4/3)x²----> multiply by 3----> 45000=1050x-4x²
4x²-1050x+45000=0

using a graph tool----> to resolve the second order equation
see the attached figure

the solution is
x=53.942 ft
x=208.558 ft

15000=x*y-----> y=15000/x

for x=53.94 ft
y=278.09 ft

for x=208.56 ft
y=71.92 ft

the possible lengths and widths of each pasture are
case 1
x=53.94 ft
y=278.09 ft

case 2
x=208.56 ft
y=71.92 ft

Write the standard form equation of the line through the given points. through (0.-4) and (-3,-2)
Alexxx [7]

Answer:

The standard form of equation of the line through the given points. through (0.-4) and (-3,-2) is \frac{2}{3}x+y=-4

Step-by-step explanation:

The standard form of equation is Ax+By=C

Finding slope

Using the given points (0,-4) and (-3,-2) we can find slope using formula:Slope=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Slope=\frac{-2-(-4)}{-3-(0)}\\Slope=\frac{-2+4}{-3}  \\Slope=-\frac{2}{3}

Finding y-intercept

Using point (0,4) and Slope=-2/3 we can find y-intercept

y=mx+b\\-4=-\frac{2}{3}(0)+b\\-4=0+b\\b=-4

The slope intercept form of the line through the given points. through (0.-4) and (-3,-2) having slope =-2/3 and b=-4 will be:

y=mx+b\\y=-\frac{2}{3}x-4

Now, standard form of equation will be: \frac{2}{3}x+y=-4

So, The standard form of equation of the line through the given points. through (0.-4) and (-3,-2) is \frac{2}{3}x+y=-4
