Fertile crescent played a significant role in helping in emerging of the early civilization by providing it with fertile soil near rivers of the area. The civilizations in the fertile crescent are known as Cradle of civilization. The region is known for its contributions to from the civilizations of ancient Mesopotamia, and Egypt with urbanization, agriculture, domestication, trade, writing, science and religion.
