Glaciers leave behind deposits known as glacial till, which are unstratified, poorly-sorted sediments. Glaciers move a wide range of sedimentary particles from small clay-sized particles to large boulders. When the glacier either melts or retreats, these poorly-sorted sediments are deposited.
