Which one is greater 12/13 or 6/7 ?
yuradex [85]
Lets first convert these unlike fraction into like fractions....by taking their LCM and making their denominators same ..and then u can compare them .so LCM of 13 and 7 is 91..<span>now we need to make both the fractions multiply with such a number which give the denominator 91
</span>=>12/13=12/13 X 7 =84/91
=>6/7=6/7 X 13 =78/91
so the fractions are : 84/91 and 78/91
therefore : 84/91 > 78/91
           i.e, 12/13 > 6/7 ..
hence 12/13 is greater. ...

Hope it helps !!!

Answer:

The common theme of poem 'Invictus' and play 'The Crucible'  is fate and resilience.

Explanation:

"Invictus" is a poem written by William Ernest Henley. The poem is about the suffering or pains that the poet went through when he suffered from a bout with tuberculosis. The poem speaks about the times when a person goes through a dark and trying time and the ability of humans to overcome it. The main message of the poem or the theme is that human can control their fate through resilience.

This theme is evident in the last lines of the poem when the poet says that he is the master of his fate and his soul.

<em>"I am the master of my fate, </em>

<em>I am the captain of my soul."</em>

<em />

<em>"My head is bloody, but unbowed."</em>

<em />

"The Crucible" is a play written by Arthur Miller based on the true incidents of the Salem witch trials. The theme of fate and resilience can also be seen this play in the last scene of the play, when Proctor decided to control his fate. In the last scene of the play, Proctor refuses to sign his name on the paper and be hung on the wall of the church. He decided not to sign, because he knew he was innocent, not in the sight of men but in God. He knew that there is a greater Judgment than this is coming, which will prove his innocence. Thus he takes control of his fate by choosing to be hunged than be shamed and lose his name.

<em>"PROCTOR: Because it is my name! Because I cannot have another in my life. Because </em>

<em>I am not worth the dust on the feet of them that hang! How may I live without my name? </em>

<em>I have given you my soul, leave me my name!"</em>

<em />

<em>"PROCTOR: (Crossing slowly to Elizabeth, takes her hand for a moment.) Pray God it  speak some goodness for me."</em>

Write an essay
pickupchik [31]

Since the end of the first world war, the USA has established itself once and for all as a great power that would not be easily defeated by anything. The rise of the USA was notable and its influence and power grew more and more each day.

In the midst of so much prosperity, the United States also cultivated enmities that would seek to attack it in every way possible. This increased the need to establish a strong defense that would protect America from adverse attacks. One way to do this was to modernize and empower the national navy, which in addition to being able to protect the United States efficiently, reaffirmed the country as the world's greatest power, both economically and militarily.

Although other presidents helped to empower the navy, it was Roosevelt who made it a symbol of US power, as a way to frighten enemies and stimulate social, political alliances with other nations and generate a strong and imposing reputation.
