Answer:

Court preacher to Louis XIV of France, Bossuet was a strong advocate of political absolutism and the divine right of kings. He argued that government was divinely ordained and that kings received sovereignpower from God. He was also an important courtier and politician.

The works best known to English speakers are three great orations delivered at the funerals of Queen Henrietta Maria, widow of Charles I of England(1669), of her daughter Henriette, Duchess of Orléans(1670), and of the outstanding military commander le Grand Condé (1687).

How did the 1918 flu end?
gtnhenbr [62]

Answer:

By the summer of 1919, the flu pandemic came to an end, as those that were infected either die d or developed immunity. Almost 90 years later, in 2008, researchers announced they’d discovered what made the 1918 flu so dea d ly: A group of three genes enabled the virus to weaken a victim’s bronchial tubes and lungs and clear the way for bacterial pneumonia. Since 1918, there have been several other influenza pandemics, although none as de adly. A flu pandemic from 1957 to 1958 k illed around 2 million people worldwide, including some 70,000 people in the United States, and a pandemic from 1968 to 1969 kill ed approximately 1 million people, including some 34,000 Americans. More than 12,000 Americans perished during the H1N1 (or “swine flu”) pandemic that occurred from 2009 to 2010.

Why is campaign finance a concern in the united states?
valina [46]
Because we have a one-man, one-vote Constitution. So why should (for one example) Betsy Prince DeVos, who has only one vote, have an outsized influence on public policy? She has influence out of all proportion to her one vote because she’s extremely wealthy, can afford to donate to candidates she and her family favor, and she has said that they keep track of who receives their donations, and how they vote on the issues that matter to Betsy and her DeVos and Prince relatives. One thing they want is lower taxes because even though they have more money than they can spend, they’re still greedy. If the abortion that the Republicans call tax “reform” is actually passed by Congress and signed into law by President Trump, it will be because of megabucks donors like Betsy. If it is, it will benefit Betsy and her relatives, but it will not benefit the nation as a whole. No one on either side of the political spectrum should have that kind of influence.

MariettaO [177]
