Liz's skirt was green silk. Her waist was a large brown-and-pink plaid, well-fitting and not without style. She wore a cluster ring of huge imitation rubies, and a locket that banged her knees at the bottom of a silver chain. Her shoes were run down over twisted high heels, and were strangers to polish. Her hat would scarcely have passed into a flour barrel.

The "Family Entrance" of the Blue Jay Café received her. At a table she sat, and punched the button with the air of milady ringing for her carriage. The waiter came with his large-chinned, low-voiced manner of respectful familiarity. Liz smoothed her silken skirt with a satisfied wriggle. She made the most of it.

These are 24-25 paragraphs.

KonstantinChe [14]
The answer is "it leaves things uncertain."

This passage focuses on the mother's understanding; it does not focus on Imogen's inner thoughts or her love for the children.

However, it does not specifically explain the "many things" the mother thought when she looked away from her child's eyes. Therefore, it leaves these things uncertain.

Suppose you overslept and you're going to be late for work or school. You run out the door to start your car
masya89 [10]

Answer:

Highlight the impact of Kettering's invention on society

Explanation:

You can use process of elimination on this. It's not the first one, because the author praises his invention and says it helped by "contributing to the growth of the U.S", we can eliminate the second one because he isn't writing about how sophisticated cars were, only about the invention. That leaves the last one, which makes the most sense and has been checked.

Explain why Elizabeth 1st faced problems in 1559 (12marks)
Bogdan [553]

Answer:

Some feared a female ruler meant that England would continue to be seen as a weak country. France and Spain were the most powerful nations, and both were ruled by kings. There were worries about who Elizabeth might marry; a foreign prince could end up taking control. Elizabeth became more anti-Catholic as her reign went on. 162 Catholics were executed between 1577 and 1603. Some extreme Protestants were unhappy with any form of compromise. Elizabeth wanted her people to worship on her terms so that she was ultimately in control.

Explanation:

I'm not very sure about any context, but this is the info that I have gathered. <3
