The Palestinian territory was under the control of the Ottoman Empire. During World War I the control of many territories of the Middle East was yielded to European powers, mainly France and England. In agreement with France, the Palestinian territory was under British rule; in 1948 the State of Israel was constituted; in 1959 the Gaza Strip came under Egyptian control and control.

In 1967, during the Six Day War, Israel took control of Sinai, the Gaza Strip, East Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Golan Heights.

In 1979 the agreement between Egypt and Israel is established by which Israel returns the Sinai territory to Egypt and Egypt withdraws its claim on the Gaza Strip leaving it under Israeli control and domination.

In 1993, the Oslo Agreement between Israel and the PLO (Organization for the Liberation of Palestine) was established, where a negotiating plan was determined that led to the creation of a government of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, in charge of the Authority. National Palestine, but without completely giving up control and military occupation by Israel.

In 2005 the unilateral withdrawal of Israel takes place, maintaining military checkpoints at the border, air space and maritime space.

In 2007, after winning the elections, the Hamas group takes control of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank is in the hands of the opposition party, formerly ruling) Fatah.

At present the Palestinian-Israeli conflict continues without resolution.
