My answer -
As mentioned above, humans have sweat glands over their entire
bodies; the only place dogs (and cats, and many other animals with fur
over their whole bodies) can get rid of excess heat is through the
tongue. By the way, sweating/panting is NOT a means of getting rid of
excess water; it is a way of getting rid of heat. We do this because of
the process of evaporation. In changing from liquid to vapor, the water
absorbs heat from the surface on which it is laying. Actually, most
organisms do not want to get rid of excess water; they need to conserve
it, but on very hot days animals "spend" the water to achieve the
cooling.

Have an AWESOME!!!! day :)
My answer would be tractable as that is the same as yielding. It means controllable. That being said, the person described in the snippet, seems to be quite the opposite of that description. The woman are discussing her behavior and how her husband is unable to control her. Maybe they are suggesting that he find someone who is the antithesis of his wife.
C. The cat is lazy.
Explanation:
Pay attention to this part of the passage:
. . .when there was work to be done the cat could never be found. She would vanish for hours on end, and then reappear at meal-times . . .
From these sentences, the Cat seems to avoid having any responsibilities. Rather than helping others during working hours , she chose to went away and let the other works on her behalf.
But, despite having no contribution at all to the group, she stills come back during meal hours. This mean she still getting as much resources as those other members who actually made an effort.
D.
words and phrases like, “Years Later” and “By the end” indicate a flow of time, and the way that they are arranged gives a sense of chronology.
