When an oceanic plate and a continental plate collide Convergent boundaries are formed.

When a plate of solid oceanic lithosphere leading in one direction strikes with a plate leading in the reverse direction, one of the plates subducts below the other. Where this happens an oceanic depression forms on the sea and the drowning plate converts into the subduction zone. Moreover, Island arcs and oceanic channels occur if both of the plates are composed of oceanic crust.

Answer:

Trench

Explanation:

The oceanic plate, which is denser, slides beneath the continental plate and forms ocean trenches. Because it melts as it goes deeper, it becomes magma, which causes earthquakes and volcanoes.

A mid-ocean ridge is an example of a divergent boundary, in which new crust is created as two or more plates pull away from each other. A mountain forms when two continental plates collide. Finally, a rift valley is a large valley shaped area of the Earth in which plates of the Earth's crust are moving away from each other, forming a system of cracks and faults.

How does meiosis differ from mitosis?
aniked [119]

Answer:

In cell biology, mitosis is a part of the cell cycle in which replicated chromosomes are separated into two new nuclei. Cell division gives rise to genetically identical cells in which the total number of chromosomes is maintained. Therefore, mitosis is also known as equational division. In general, mitosis is preceded by S phase of interphase (during which DNA replication occurs) and is often followed by telophase and cytokinesis; which divides the cytoplasm, organelles and cell membrane of one cell into two new cells containing roughly equal shares of these cellular components. The different stages of mitosis altogether define the mitotic (M) phase of an animal cell cycle—the division of the mother cell into two daughter cells genetically identical to each other.
