Answer: The author's perspective is different from other versions of the Thanksgiving story. He not only focuses on the happy side where the natives welcomed the Pilgrims but on the war that proceeded it as well.

Explanation: Many authors that tell the story of "The Plymouth Thanksgiving Story” describe how the Native Americans helped the Pilgrims when they arrived at their land, how they taught them to grow food and the beautiful friendship they had.
