Shiva had read 1/6 of the book that night.

1/2 + n = whole book - 1/3

1/2 + n = 1                   - 1/3 = 3/3 - 1/3

1/2 + n                                    =     2/3

The Lowest Common denominator of 2 and 3 is 6.  Change each fraction to 6ths.

1/2 = 3/6.   and 2/3 = 4/6

So 3/6 + n = 4/6

Subtract 3/6 from each side

3/6 + n - 3/6. = 4/6 - 3/6

          n.           = 1/6

Shiva had read 1/6 of the book that night.

A teacher deposits $3,000 in a retirement fund. If she doesn't add any more money to the fund, which earns an annual interest ra
Cloud [144]
Okay, let me explain:
Take 6% of 3000 and add it to 3000. So basically turn the 6% into a decimal which would be 0.06, and multiply the 3000 by it. So, 3000 x 0.06 which equals 3,180. I hope this time it helped :) message me if you need further instructions.

A carrot has 55 grams of sugar per serving. A banana has 15 grams of sugar per serving. Which statement is true?
GREYUIT [131]
For an equal number of servings, the bananas will have three times as much sugar.

To put it in perspective:
When we have one serving of each fruit, the carrot will give you 5 grams of sugar whereas banana will give you 15 grams.

Hope this helps!
