Answer:

First evening: 8 phone calls

Second evening: 60 phone calls

Third evening: 15 phone calls

Step-by-step explanation:

third evening: x

second evening: 4x

first evening: x - 7

x + 4x + x - 7 = 83

6x = 90

x = 15

First evening: x - 7 = 15 - 7 = 8

Second evening: 4x = 4(15) = 60

Third evening: x = 15

Does the function ƒ(x) = (1∕2) + 25 represent exponential growth, decay, or neither?A) Exponential growth
padilas [110]

Answer:

D) Exponential decay

Step-by-step explanation:

The correct function is:

f(x) = 25(1/2)^x

Required

What type of rate is it

An exponential function is represented as:

f(x) = ab^x

If

b > 0, then it represents growth

b < 0, then it represents decay

By comparison:

b = 1/2

1/2 < 0

Hence, the rate is exponential decay

Answer:

Baton Twirling:

Domain = Time (s)

Range = Height (ft)

Music Club:

Domain: # of Songs

Range: total cost ($)

Step-by-step explanation:

Baton Twirling:

I often, personally, find it easier to think of these questions coming from a function-graph standpoint, where you have x (domain) and y (range). Logical thinking immediately tells you the time would fall on the x-axis, aka the independent variable. Setting logic aside, look at the question from a literal factual perspective. Jill chucks her drum wand up in the air, much like an angry base-ball player would a bat, and she's already determined her routine will take place in a TWO SECOND time frame before the wand comes BACK DOWN and clobbers Jill on the head (unless she catches it, ofc). However it may just be lights out for Jill, because the DEPENDENT variable is the height. If Jill chucks it too high, she's gonna be standing waiting for it to come down. If she's short, she's going to get KO'd by an in-animate object mid-twirl.

The baton NEEDS to be in the air for a total of 2 seconds, thus making the height dependent upon the time, much like Jill is dependent upon the laws of physics and good timing to prevent getting cold-clocked.

Music Club:

Jermaine might be a music addict, but his wallet is going to run out at some limit, and that credit-card bill isn't looking too good. The store's gonna keep feeding Jermaine those albums until Jermaine's insatiable appetitie for lip-syncing is satisfied. Jermaine can keep buying music, and the number of $$$ is going to keep racking up. The money he does (or more accurately, doesn't [because we both know he gonna take the CD's and dip]) fork up depends upon how much music this boy wants.

The money is dependent. The # of songs is independent.

Hope this helps ;)

a scale of model cars is 4 inches long. The car itself is 12 feet long. if the model is 2 inches wide, how wide, is the actual c
lianna [129]

Answer:

6 feet wide

Step-by-step explanation:

Our ratio in this example is for every 4 inches : 12 feet. Divide both of it by 4

4:12
/4:/4
1 inch:3 ft.

So every 1 inch is 3 ft. So 2 inches is 3*2 = 6 ft as the width of the car.

HURRY NEED THIS ASAP. A company that manufactures golf balls produces a new type of ball that is supposed to travel significantl
Lera25 [3.4K]

The conclusion based on the mean of the ball and the distance traveled is D. Inferences cannot be made about all the golf balls produced on that day.

<h3>How to deduce the inference?</h3>

From the information given, a golf pro randomly selects a ball, not knowing the type of ball, hits it and end of the session, the mean distance traveled for the new type of golf ball was found to be greater than the mean distance for the original-style golf ball.

In this case, inferences cannot be made about all the golf balls produced on that day; however, the conclusion can be made that the new type of golf balls travel farther than the original type of golf ball for this golf pro.
