Direct labor or machine hours may not be the appropriate cost driver for overhead in all areas of manufacturing due to the compl

exities of many manufacturing processes. Many companies use activity-based costing (ABC) which uses multiple drivers (items that consume resources) rather than just one driver to apply overhead to their activities. With ABC, a company can use a cost driver that has a direct cause/effect relationship in its applied overhead costs.
Waterways looked into ABC as a method of costing because of the variety of items it produces and the many different activities in which it is involved. The activities listed below area sample of possible cost pools for Waterways.
Assembling Payroll
Billing Plant supervision
Digging trenches Product design
Janitorial Purchasing materials
Machine maintenance Selling
Machine setups Testing
Molding Welding

The Puyer Corporation makes and sells only one product called a Deb. The company is in the process of preparing its Selling and
Svetradugi [14.3K]

Answer: $172,000

Explanation:

Its a little bit of a trick question throwing in the Debs that they want to sell for the month.

That figure is irrelevant because we are dealing with fixed costs so the company will still incur them regardless of what they sell.

The components of total budgeted fixed selling and administrative expenses are,

Advertising

Executive Salaries

Depreciation on office equipment and,

Others

Those are the only figures that should concern you. Adding them up would give us,

= 50,500 + 60,500 + 20,500 + 40,500

= $172,000

The total budgeted fixed selling and administrative expenses for February is $172,000

YOUR TASK. Revise the following sentences to unbury the verbs.
stellarik [79]

 • 41. After the investigation, the fire department reached the conclusion that the blaze was set intentionally.
 • 42. Our committee promised to give consideration to your proposal at its next meeting.
 • 43. When used properly, zero-based budgeting can bring about a reduction in overall costs.
 • 44. Did our department make an application for increased budget support?
 • 45. The budget committee has not taken action on any projects yet.
 • 46. Homeowners must make a determination of the total value of their furnishings.

What is a Verb?

15. Cole is about to purchase 4 units of good A and 6 units of good B. The price of both A and B is $2. Cole has only $20 to spe
atroni [7]

Answer: Option (A) is correct.

Explanation:

Price of good A = Price of Good B = $2

Income = $20

Therefore, from the above information, the budget constraint is as follows:

2A + 2B = 20

Both goods have an intercept value of 10 with A=4 & B=6 and the slope of indifference curve shows that marginal rate of substitution (MRS) is falling. This means that as we consume more and more units of a good, the utility obtained from that good decreases.

The utility derived from good B decreases as we consume more and more units of a good, since it is in larger proximity to the intercepts value.

Therefore, the consumer will pay to purchase more of good A as compared to good B at this point.

if the firm depiced in figure 5 behaves like a perfectly competitive firm, it will chose the output level of
Mazyrski [523]

The profit-maximizing choice for a perfectly competitive firm will occur at the level of output where marginal revenue is equal to marginal cost—that is, where MR = MC. This occurs at Q = 80 in the figure.

Marginal revenue is the increase in revenue that results from the sale of one additional unit of output.

While marginal revenue can remain constant over a certain level of output, it follows from the law of diminishing returns and will eventually slow down as the output level increases.

How do u calculate marginal revenue?

To calculate marginal revenue, you take the total change in revenue and then divide that by the change in the number of units sold.

The marginal revenue formula is: marginal revenue = change in total revenue/change in output.
