- synthesis of large quantities of cholesterol, phospholipids and most lipoproteins
In metabolism of proteins (AMINO ACIDS),
the liver helps in regulating the circulating levels through:
- Deamination of amino acids
- formation of urea for removal of ammonia from the body fluids; and
- formation of plasm proteins
