There are five main influences: Industrialization, Modernization, Globalization, Marketization and Administrative Power

Unlike a rural society, urban societies thrive on power in economics, population and government structure. The beginnigs of these influences are most noticeable during the industrial revolution. Cities became empires all because of people looking for work and advances in machinery.
