I believe in love at first sight because even when people don’t believe in it, there’s actually science behind the feeling of falling in love at first sight. True deep love may not exist when you first meet someone but you may create the memory of falling in love later on in your relationship.
Answer:
B. They have a tendency to talk about themselves.
Explanation:
According to the stated paragraph and sentence, the narrator mentions how he and his cousins won't stop talking about themselves as they try to keep up the illusion by mentioning names and casting fringes on their family connection.
Therefore, the narrator suggests that he and his cousins have a tendency to talk about themselves.
D. To leave unanswered questions for the audience to think about
The questions leave the audience to come up with their own answers. However, the way the questions are asked he is guiding the audience to have similar answers. If we look at the other options, it is almost easier to eliminate the other options to verify that we are correct. Option A talks about a warm comfortable feeling. However, Wiesel does not want to leave the audience feeling warm and comfortable. He wants the audience to have a reaction to the horrors and injustices being done in the world. He no longer wants people to be indifferent to human suffering. Option B mentions are religious plea...there is no religion in his questions. Option C is about him directly stating his opinion. Questions are not direct statements...this is wrong. Option D is the only valid choice.
Free verse poetry does not follow a set rhyme scheme or structure.
There are no rules on writing a free verse poem like other poems such as haikus or concrete poems. These poems my not have any structure or rules but they tend to have lots of literary devices (ie metaphor, hyperbole, simile, etc). Free verse usually imitates natural speech.
Hope this helped!
