Answer:

d. Arduous.

Explanation:

The word "laborious" means someone who is active, hardworking, persistent. It signifies someone who does grueling, difficult, wearisome work.

The given sentence is <em>"In the arts, as in any field of endeavor, the laurels usually go to those who are as laborious as they are naturally gifted."</em>

Here, the speaker says that the laurels usually go to those who work hard as well as are naturally gifted. But the main point is the perseverance, the 'striving for success' people. In other words, <u>'hardworking' also means arduous.</u>

Thus, the correct answer is option d.

Analyze the various characters in the story. List which character types—dynamic, round, static, and flat—you observed in the sto
USPshnik [31]

Answer:

There were three main characters in this story.

Della Dillingham Young (dynamic)

James Dillingham Young (dynamic/ static)

Madame Sofronie (flat)

Explanation:

Della was a dynamic character throughout the story because she was always up for the help, support, care and sacrifice. She can handle and change according to the situation. She sold her hairs to buy gift to her husband.

James was a static character in start because change was not his thing but when he had no money for gift, he decided to sell his precious thing just make his wife happy by giving her gift so it was also his dynamic side. So, James was both dynamic and static.

Madame Sofronie was a flat business woman who had no concern what Della is going through or what hairs meant to her. She didn't even look properly and told Della the price.  So, madame Sofronie was a flat, emotionless, harsh business woman.

is screamo/em music good for kids/teens to listen to?why? im doing a research paper and need different opinions
iVinArrow [24]
I believe that it's good for kids to listen to any music they want. It can build them up, and possibly give them confidence. Maybe not the popular stuff going around right now that has no real purpose and all they talk about is how cool they think they are, but music with a meaning, yes. I grew up in a strict christian household and christian music never brought me up any more than my "satanic" bands did. They were always there for me when no one else was, so don't think that just because you don't like it you can take it away from them. You don't understand how much just one song can influence a person. And emo and screamo music can do that way more than popular music can.
