The population of Ashmore was 925 in 2000 and in 1028 in 2001. the linear model for ashmores population is p= 103t+925, where th

e is the years since 2000.
Find an exponential model, in the form pm a (b)^2, for ashmores population t-ywars after 2000. round b to the nearest thousandth.

How much greater is the population predicted by the exponential model than that predicted by the linear model for the year 2015?

Answer:

exponential population is 2035 greater than the linear model.

Step-by-step explanation:

Exponential modal for the population of Ashmore given in the question after 2000 is in the form of population = a.(b)^{2} Or we can the equation in the form of population = a.(r)^{t}

where "a" is the population of Ashmore in 2000 = 925

r = common ration = 1028/925 = 1.1113

t = years

Now we have to calculate the population for the year 2015

=925.(1.1113)^{15}

= 925 × 4.87 = 4505

population predicted by linear model for year 2015

p = 103t + 925

p = 103×15 + 925

p = 2470

Now the difference in exponential model and linear model will be

= 4505 - 2470 = 2035

Divide known populations:

1028 / 925 = 1.11135

so exponential formula would be 925*1.11135^t

using 15 years:   925 * 1.11135^15 = 4507

linear model: 103(15) +925 = 2470

4507 - 2470 = 2037 more people using exponential

<u>Unit rate 4:</u>

The table

d      n

4       1

8       2

16      4

<u>Unit rate 1/4:</u>

Table

d      n

1       4

4       16

16      64

and

The equation n=4d

<u>Unit rate 16:</u>

Equation:

d = 16n

Step-by-step explanation:

The unit in the unit rate is dollars per unit ounces which means that the unit rate calculated by

Unit\ rate = \frac{dollars}{ounces}

So,

The first option is the equation:

d = 16n\\\frac{d}{n} = 16

The unit rate is 16 dollars per ounce

The second option is the table:

d      n

1       4

4       16

16      64

We can take any pair of values of d and n from the table to calculate the unit rate

So taking

d = 1

n=4

Unit\ rate = \frac{d}{n}\\= \frac{1}{4}

The unit rate for table is: 1/4 dollars per ounces

Third option is the equation:

n = 4d

n = 4d

dividing both sides by n

\frac{n}{n} = \frac{4d}{n}\\1 = \frac{4d}{n}

dividing both sides by 4

\frac{1}{4} = \frac{4d}{4n}\\\frac{d}{n} = \frac{1}{4}

the unit rate is 1/4 dollars per ounce

Fourth option is the table:

d      n

4       1

8       2

16      4

We will take any pair of d and n to find the unit rate

So,

Taking

d = 4

n =1

Unit\ rate = \frac{d}{n} \\= \frac{4}{1}\\=4

The unit rate is 4 dollars per unit ounce.

Is 50 a perfect square ? Explain your answer please
xeze [42]
No, 50 is not a perfect square.  A perfect square is any number that can be divided by any number to get the quotient as the same number AND the quotient must be rational.  When you divide 50 so that the quotient equals the divisor, you will get an irrational number.  Therefore, 50 is not a perfect square.
