n 1982 the inflation rate hit 16%. Suppose that the average cost of a textbook in 1982 was $25. What was the expected cost in th

e year 2017 if we project this rate of inflation on the cost? (Assume continuous compounding. Round your answer to the nearest cent.) If the average cost of a textbook in 2012 was $150, what is the actual inflation rate (rounded to the nearest tenth percent)?

Answer:

Total number of years = 35

a. Expected cost in 2017 = $25 * e^(35*0.16)

Expected cost in 2017 = $25 * e^5.6

Expected cost in 2017 = $25 * 270.42

Expected cost in 2017 = $6,760.50

b. If the average cost of a textbook in 2012 was $150, then the actual inflation rate:

150 = 25 * e^(r*t)

150 = 25 * e^(r*30)

6 = e^(r*30)

Taking log base e on both side

30r = Ln6

30r = 1.7918

r = 1.7918/30

r = 0.05972667

r = 5.97%

So,  actual inflation rate is 5.97%

Which of the following would have a negative impact on determining eligiblity for a home loan?
damaskus [11]

Answer:

Withdrawing money from savings

Explanation:

If a person withdraws money from his savings, this person is losing the balance that the bank or mortgage company could take into account in order to approve the loan or not.

The reason is that a person without savings could very easily find it hard to keep up with payments in case of a job loss, or a salary reduction, while a person with savings has a financial cushion that insurers the loaner against this kind of situations.

Owners of the 650 homes in a subdivision list their houses, on average, every six years. if a sales associate farms that neighbo
pishuonlain [190]
There are 650 homes.
Owners list their homes on the average, every six years.
Therefore average number of homes listed per year is
650/6 = 108.333 homes

If a sales associate lists 40% of the homes in a year, she can expect to list
40%*108.333 = 0.4*108.333 = 43.33

We cannot have fractional homes, so the sales associate lists 43 homes per year.

Nadya [2.5K]

Answer: Expectancy Theory

Explanation: Expectancy theory formulates that a person will conduct oneself in a specific manner as he or she is motivated to choose a particular behavior over others because of what they regard the outcome of the behavior that is selected as likely to be.

Here, the management of McCloud Corp utilizes the expectancy theory to make the workers develop the quality of their work and put in extra effort to the work . However, this theory is aimed at giving rewards to workers who earned them and also chose to get rewarded as they are chosen by their performance. The inspiration for the behavior preference is deduced by how appealing the result is.
