The relationship between Roman and greek gods is that they were all the same gods, but they had diffrent names. If i were to say Zues, Poseidon, and hades, in Roman mythology, their names would be Jupiter(zues), Neptune(Poseidon) and Pluto(hades)

Culturally, they would mostly disregard the local culture and impose their own which would often be accepted and kept by the locals, but often there was also warfare.
