What do you think the speaker means when he says, “Nature’s first green is gold”? In nothing gold can stay HELPPP
Svetlanka [38]

Answer:

Now that our speaker has told us that nature is gold before it's green, he goes on to say that gold is the hardest hue, or color, for nature to hold, or keep. So the first color we see in spring doesn't stick around very long. Hold rhymes with gold, which means we've got a rhymed couplet here.

What does this excerpt most suggest about the beliefs of the ancient Greeks?
tekilochka [14]

After reading the excerpt from "The Odyssey," we can say the author suggests the following about the beliefs of the ancient Greeks:

D. They believed that the gods often punished people for acting badly.

<h3>How do gods act in "The Odyssey"?</h3>
  • Gods from the ancient Greek mythology are often interfering in the lives of humans in the epic poem "The Odyssey." They can offer help, but they also frequently punish humans for their bad actions.

<h3>How about the excerpt?</h3>
  • In the excerpt we are analyzing here, the god Zeus is punishing Odysseus and his men with a terrible storm. The men soon begin to fear for their life, until Zeus's fury finally fades.
  • As a matter of fact, Odysseus and his men are often being punished by the gods, especially Poseidon, the god of the seas. Whenever they disobey or challenge the gods, they meet with hardship and even death.

With that in mind, we can choose letter D as the best option concerning the ancient Greek's beliefs.

This is the excerpt the question is about:

<em>Now Zeus the lord of cloud roused in the north </em>

<em>a storm against the ships, and driving veils </em>

<em>of squall moved down like night on land and sea. </em>

<em>The bows went plunging at the gust; sails </em>

<em>cracked and lashed out strips in the big wind. </em>

<em>We saw death in that fury, dropped the yards, </em>

<em>unshipped the oars, and pulled for the nearest lee: </em>

<em>then two long days and nights we lay offshore </em>

<em>worn out and sick at heart, tasting our grief, </em>

<em>until a third Dawn came with ringlets shining.</em>

Using the information found in this passage, write three sentences. One sentence should paraphrase the passage, one sentence sho
k0ka [10]

Paraphrasing is rewording the original material into a slightly shorter segment:

"In Norwegian legend, while trolls may be troublemakers, they are not portrayed as evil. Norwegian parents may even jokingly say that their child 'has some troll in them' if they misbehave. Sometimes, Norwegians are fond of the idea of trolls."

Quotations. When quoting from a passage, the segment from the original source must be identical, and you must give credit to the author. Here's a passage that quotes and credits the orginal passage:

Norwegians have a positive view of trolls in their legends. In his work <em>Norwegian Myths and Legends</em>, Donald Howard states that "Norwegians have a fondness for trolls--or at least the idea of them" (page 98).

Summarizing means putting the main idea into your own words. Here's a sentence that summarizes the passage:

In Norway, trolls are not seen as evil, they are seen as mischievous - some Norwegians are actually fond of them.

Help with this plz...
Mila [183]

Hello, I made my edits in bold. :)

------

Dear Ms<u>.</u> Parmar,   <em>-Error #1: Add a period after "Ms."</em>

I am writing to you to ask for your help!

As you know, keeping up to date with children's health policies is a key part of my role as an apprentice nursery nurse<u>.</u><u> </u><u>It</u> is important for me to have access to the policies online whilst I am at work. <em>-Error #2: Change the comma after nurse to a period, and capitalize "it."</em>

Unfortunately, due to an IT fault, my workplace access to the <u>I</u>nternet is blocked at the moment. <em>-Error #3: Capitalize "Internet."</em>

I would be grateful if you could look into this as soon as possible<u>.</u>  <em>-Error #4: Change the question mark after "possible" to a period.</em>

It is preventing me from doing my job properly, and I worry that I will fall behind in my placement if it continues for much longer. <em>-Error #5: Add a space in between "my" and "job."</em>

<em />

I look forward to hearing from you!

Kind regards,

Charlotte
