Which phrase from the passage best supports the theme that humans possess the ability to be monsters
Tanya [424]

The reason we use monsters in literature then? The role they play? There is no singular one. But I personally believe that we use monsters to take everything we dislike about ourselves as humans, and also all of those animalistic instincts we suppress, and put them into one form. We lock those beings in a cupboard or shove them under our beds so that we never have to look at them. And we take them out when we want to create a story - when we want to speculate from far away and see what happens. In that regard, every piece of artwork ever developed starring a monster and a hero is a constructed, thoroughly planned social experiment.

PLZ ANSWER (about JFK)
kipiarov [429]

I wrote this just now! I take AP US History as well as AP English, so I am a good writer. I hope you find this suitable! :)

Answer: In Lesson 5.02, I read about President John F. Kennedy's views on America, government, and the future of the economy. In paragraph 20 of the Lesson, Kennedy does mention a counterclaim. He states, <em>"I know that there are those who want to turn everything over to the Government. I don't at all. I want the individuals to meet their responsibilities and I want the States to meet their responsibilities. But I think there is also a national responsibility."</em> In this quote, he recognizes the existence of ideas that differ from his, while simultaneously proving the counterclaim wrong. He says that while others want to turn all responsibility over to the government, he does not agree with that. He also provides a plan on how this will be accomplished later on in the lesson, especially in Paragraph 24, where he says, <em>"I believe in effective governmental action, and I think that's the only way that the United States is going to maintain its freedom."</em> Essentially, he agrees that effective governmental action is the way that the USA can best progress as a country.
