What information can be determined directly by analyzing seafloor drill cores? (Select all that apply.)
poizon [28]

Answer:

✓The type of sediment on the seafloor.

✓The type of rock on the seafloor.

✓The rate of sediment deposition.

Explanation:

Sea drilling cores are one way to get samples that can be used for analysis whereby some information such as type of sediment on the seafloor and type of rock on the seafloor can be known. Surface samplers can be collected from sediment at very top layers or inside deep of the ocean floor. These samples could have animals hidden, , water and some particles that can be analysed in the muddy deep, devices such as Coring devices can be used in collection of cores. The information that can be determined directly by analyzing seafloor drill cores are;

✓The type of sediment on the seafloor.

✓The type of rock on the seafloor.

✓The rate of sediment deposition.

Can anyone pls identify what type of sedimentary rocks these are. Thank you. This will react with acid
levacccp [35]

Answer:

Carbonate sedimentary rocks

Explanation:

Carbonate sedimentary rocks are the rocks that are primarily comprised of carbonate minerals such as calcite or aragonite. They are formed chemically. These rocks are formed when Carbon is initially trapped with the accumulation of sediments over it in association with fossil shells. They are also formed due to the dissolution or precipitation by groundwater, depending upon the temperature, pH and dissolved ions present in the solution.

They are often marked by the presence of karst topography and caves.

Some examples of these rocks are limestone and dolomite.

Anne releases a stone from a height of 2 meters. She measures the kinetic energy of the stone at 9.8 joules at the exact point i
nlexa [21]

Eₖ = √1/2 mv²

Eₖ/v² = 1/2 m

2Eₖ/v² = m

mgh = 1/2 mv²

gh = 1/2 v²

2gh = v²

v = √2gh

= √2 × 10 N/kg × 2 m

= 6.324 ms⁻¹

m = 9.8/(6424)²

= 9.8/39.993

= 0.245 g

I am not sure if it's correct.

i transposed for m in the first equation then to find the velocity I combined the potential and kinetic energy equation. there was no mass because velocity doesn't depend on the mass

Then I used earth's gravitational field strength (g) 10 N/kg and the 2 m was the height provided in the question

you can try working and see if you get the same
