There is only one solution because the graph shows the lines intersecting once and they won’t cross again because both lines are going in opposite directions from each other

im's uncle is 4 times as old as his nephew Jim. In 10 years, Jim's uncle age will be 20 years more than twice Jim's age. How old
faltersainse [42]

Answer:

15 years old.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Jim's age now be one unit (1u).

His uncle's age now is then 4 units.

Jim's age in 10 years = 1u + 10

Jim's uncle's age in 10 years = 4u + 10

In 10 years, Jim's uncle's age will be 20 years more than twice Jim's age.

Twice Jim's age =

2(1u + 10) = 2u + 20

Since Jim's uncle's age is 20 years more than this, we can say that his uncle's age is equal to

2u + 20 + 20

which is equal to

2u + 40

We found out that Jim's uncle's age in 10 years is 4u+10. Hence

4u + 10 = 2u + 40

We subtract 10 from both sides:

4u = 2u + 30

Therefore

2u = 30

and one unit is 15. Hence, Jim's age now is 15.

If x = 3 is a zero of the polynomial function f(x) = 2x3 + x2 − 25x + 12, which of the following is another zero of f(x)? ASAP
olasank [31]
If x = 3 is a solution, (x - 3) is a factor of f(x).
2x³ + x² - 25x + 12 ÷ (x - 3) [by long division] = 2x² + 7x - 4
so f(x) = (x - 3)(2x² + 7x - 4)
f(x) = (x - 3)(2x - 1)(x + 4)
so 'zeros', or more correctly solutions, are: x = 3, x = 1/2 and x = -4.
[by setting each of the factors equal to 0 and solving for x].

I will pick the brainiest answer! Thanks! :)
umka21 [38]

Answer:

The first one: if 2/3 is 12 then 1/3 is 6. 3/3 is 18. SO Jane had 18 stuffed animals  before the donation.

The second one: 25 students then 13 are men so 25-13 is 12. 12/25 as a percentage is 48%

Hope this helps!
