Current concentration =5%
Current volume = 50 gallons
Current brine content = 0.05*(50 gallons) = 2.5 gallons.

Let x = gallons of water that evaporated.
Then
Final volume  = (50 -x) gallons
Final concentration = 8%
Final brine content = 0.08*(50 - x) = 4 - 0.08x gallons

The brine content did not change, therefore
4 - 0.08x = 2.5
-0.08x = -1.5
x = 18.75 gallons

Answer: 18.75 gallons

Dafna1 [17]

Answer:

<A = 27 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

Since this is a right triangle, we can use trig functions

Tan A = opp side / adj side

Tan A = 2/4

Tan A = 1/2

Taking the inverse tan of each side

tan^-1 ( tan A) = tan ^-1 (1/2)

A =26.56505118

Rounding to the nearest  degree

A = 27

Step2247 [10]

Answer:

Amount of money paid by each student is equal to \$3W+\$200

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: A group of children bought 3 presents that cost \$W each and a card that cost \$200.

To find: amount of money each student paid in terms of W

Solution:

Cost of each present =\$W

Cost of 3 presents =\$3W

Cost of a card =\$200

Therefore,

Amount of money paid by each student in terms of W = Cost of 3 presents + Cost of a card

=\$3W+\$200
