Answer:

Georgia, legal case in which the U.S. Supreme Court on March 3, 1832, held (5–1) that the states did not have the right to impose regulations on Native American land. Andrew Jackson refused to enforce the ruling, the decision helped form the basis for most subsequent law in the United States regarding Native Americans. Georgia, 31 U.S. (6 Pet.) 515 (1832), was a landmark case in which the United States Supreme Court vacated the conviction of Samuel Worcester and held that the Georgia criminal statute that prohibited non-Native Americans from being present on Native American lands without a license from the state was unconstitutional.Worcester's decision was important in terms of the Native American rights because he was there to help the Native Americans not be scared of the Supreme Court. That they can fight and stay where they are. In an opinion delivered by Chief Justice John Marshall, the Court held that the Georgia act, under which Worcester was prosecuted, violated the Constitution, treaties, and laws of the United States.

Which best identifies the event that renews hope in the secret annex
konstantin123 [22]

The correct answer is the D-day.

The Secret Annex was the space, at the back of a Dutch canal house in Amsterdam, where Anne Frank and her family hid for years during the Nazi occupation, together with another Jewish family.

Hope was brought by the information which arrived there about the D-day, when the Normandy landings took place, which meant the arrival of the Allied forces to the occupied French territory. It happened on June, 1944. It was a crucial military operation in the defeat of the Nazis in mainland Europe.

Anne and the rest of the people hidden were arrested by the Nazis in August 1944 and sent to concentration camps where all died, except Anne's father, Otto Frank. Therefore the answer option which mentions the end of the Nazi occupation in Amsterdam cannot be true.

Secondly, there was no one called Eli in the annex. The event with the burglars was totally different. They were scared because they thought the burglars might see them, but in the end that did not happen.

Why is it simplistic to describe history as "what happened in the past"?
irga5000 [103]

Answer:

It is simplistic to describe history as "what happened in the past" because it's is not just an accumulation of facts. History goes beyond examining the records of events that have occurred.

It also involves studying to know why those events occurred. When the why is understood, then learning takes place and knowledge gained can be used to repeat and improve upon successes whilst preventing and or correcting mishaps.

This is important because the future is an accumulation of past and present occurrences.

Cheers!

Which technique does not add to the memorability of a speech?
Elanso [62]
There are many techniques that can contribute to the memorability of a speech, for example stressing the main points and explaining them well, linking the ideas in a logical way and providing a strong conclusion.

One technique that does not support memorability is shouting loudly key words: they might remember you but not the content of the speech.
