Answer:

$10,985.73

Explanation:

The worth of the extended warranty in today's terms is the present value of all year-end repair expenses expected to be incurred in extending the warranty whereby the interest rate of 6% is the appropriate discount rate in this case as shown thus:

Present value of a future cash flow=cash flow/(1+discount rate)^n

n is the year in which the cash flow is expected, it is 1 for year 1 repair expenses , 2 for year 2 and so on.

PV of repair expenses=$2000/(1+6%)^1+$2000/(1+6%)^2+$4000/(1+6%)^3+$5000/(1+6%)^4

PV of repair expenses= $10,985.73

jeka57 [31]
The best saving account that Anthony should take is letter D, daily compounding. Daily compounding could provide him the best rate of return to his interest and this could provide him the interest that he deserves every time he deposits money on his bank account. This could not only be best in returning his interest but it could also provide the interest he deserves.

Brums [2.3K]

It all depends on the degree of consumer risk aversion. Some consumers are more likely to be at risk than others. If my propensity for risk in the face of the possibility of a premium is greater, I will prefer the adjustable hypotheca, which gives me the chance to pay less in the end. If I am a risk averse consumer, I will prefer a fixed hypotheque that will give predictability to my budget.
