If the population of rabbits decreases or has been wiped out, then the predators which consume them, will eventually suffer from starvation. It should be taken into account the trophic networks concept,which basically refers to all the biological an non-biological interactions among species on a specific environment. Moreover, when these interactions or relationships are suddenly cut or interrupted, the dependent species (in this case the coyotes) will be affected because of the lack of their food (rabbits).
