Es cierto que durante la Republica Aristocrática se produce también el desarrollo de la iniciativa capitalista.

A partir del dominio político de la oligarquía Peruana se produce la invasión del capital extranjero y la subordinación del estado y del capital nacional frente al imperialismo. Esa oligarquía dominaba y explotaba los recursos del Perú como la minería, las finanzas, y la agricultura, con el respaldo del Partido Civil

En esta etapa en la historia del Perú, la oligarquía controlaba al país aproximadamente desde 1895 y su máxima influencia se ejerció por ahí de 1919.

Ese pequeño grupo de dueños de empresas financieras y de minería controlaba la economía del país, pero los Peruanos eran pobres.

Hoy en día, algunas de esas prácticas no se han podido eliminar, incluyendo la corrupción que ha llevado a distintos ex presidentes del Perú a ser enjuiciados.
