The Great Gatsby: Chapters 6-7 quiz
photoshop1234 [79]

Answer:

Mr. and Mrs. Sloane and Tom leave. They do not wait for Gatsby.

Explanation:

"The Great Gatsby" is a novel by American author F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940) in which he explores themes such as the depravity of society and the decadence of the American dream.

The narrator is Nick, Gatsby's neighbor. Nick is cousin to Daisy, Gatsby's love interest. Daisy is married to millionaire Tom Buchanan, an unfaithful and brute man. Mr. and Mrs. Sloane are just minor characters who, like Tom and Daisy, are wealthy and shallow.

At a certain point in the story, Tom, Mr. and Mrs. Sloane are riding their horses when they stop by Gatsby's house to have a drink of water. Gatsby, unlike them, is new money. He does not come from a wealthy, traditional family. Thus, he is desperate to be accepted by the old money society. When Mrs. Sloane, out of politeness, invites Gatsby to dine with them, Gatsby accepts the invitation without realizing it was not serious. While he goes inside his house for a moment, Tom, Mr. and Mrs. Sloane leave. They do not wait for him to come with them. It is interesting that they find Gatsby's acceptance of the invitation to be rude, but do not care when they are rude to him themselves.

Why is English such a difficult subject?
Gala2k [10]
This, on the other hand, is a big, interesting book. Native English-speakers intuitively know what order to put words in, but this is hard to teach to those learning the language. The difference between the right and wrong order is so subtle that it's hard to explain beyond simply saying that it “just sounds right” I find it simple but we all have our own opinions..

Body paragraphy about the book animal farm
Neko [114]

Answer: On Animal Farm there is a pig named Napoleon who took power of the farm after the revolution and became a ruthless dictator, gaining power in three different ways. The first method of power being violence and force. This was first displayed when the pig, Snowball, was chased off the farm by Napoleon’s guards just because he had opposed Napoleon. “At first, no one had been able to imagine where these creatures came from, but the problem was soon solved: they were the puppies whom Napoleon had taken away from their mothers and reared privately.”(Orwell 53) This quote shows how similar the dogs/guards and Napoleon are to Stalin and the Secret police during the Soviet Union. After Napoleon had chased the cunning Snowball off of the farm, he uncontestedly took power of the farm and became a dictator. All the animals were shocked at Napoleon’s actions but were too afraid to speak up because of the intimidating dogs. Later on in the book, whenever there was an outcry or questioning of power, Napoleon immediately sent his guard dogs over and all they had to do was growl and the animals would quiet down and probably never speak up again. The dogs were savage and very violent, sometimes killing animals on the farm.
