What was the role of disease in the Americas and Pacific islands? Did it help or hold back European expansion in these areas? Wh
gregori [183]

Answer:

Disease helped European expansion into those areas

Explanation:

For example, disease like smallpox was a major contribution to European expansion in the Aztec and Incan empires.

The Aztecs and Incas had no natural immunity to the disease and were extremely vulnerable to it, so smallpox was able to demolish the populations.

The conquerors, Hernan and Cortes, were able to easily crush the populations that had already been weakened by disease.

This was also present in other areas in the Americas and the Pacific.

Makovka662 [10]

Answer: Coronado and his men spent the winter of 1540–1541 near the Rio Grande River near present-day Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was not an easy time, as the Spanish were attacked several times by Native Americans. In the spring of 1541, the group made their way to what is now Texas, moving into the Palo Duro Canyon. Coronado led a small group to the north in search of Quivira, another one of the Seven Cities of Gold. He was disappointed once again when all he found was another Native American village in what is now modern-day Kansas.

How did World War I relate to the art movements of Dadaism and Surrealism?
8_murik_8 [283]

Answer:

They were both developed in reaction to World War I.

Explanation:

While Dadaism which started around 1913, is a movement in which some artists rejected the logic, reason, and aestheticism of modern capitalist society, by displaying nonsense, irrationality, and anti-bourgeois protest in their works, and at the same time maintained political interest with the radical left.

Surrealism, on the other hand, was popular between 1920s and 1930s, and tried to access the subconsciousness of people and then translate this flow of thought into form of art.

Hence, Dadaism and Surrealism were both developed in reaction to World War I.
