According to U.S.<span> President George W. Bush and UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, the coalition mission was "to disarm </span>Iraq<span> of weapons of mass destruction, to end Saddam Hussein's support for terrorism, and to free the </span>Iraqi<span> people."</span>
All three governments wanted to be superior and they did act that way. But soon, it caused many issues. This is probably not the best answer but I hope it kind of helps :)
