How was education during the Renaissance shaped by humanism
lisov135 [29]
The Renaissance was a period of rebirth after a period of darkness filled with plagues and feudalism. The Black Death contributed to the humanism aspect by making people deny God because of all these terrible plagies. Education especially through humanism was looked at differently. Previously, education was administered by the Church where priests would get the education for religious texts. Humanism however was centering humans on education. Different science advancements were encouraged by humanists. Humanists encouraged philosophy, poetry and to essentially teach their ideas. Many Humanist schools were created and education impacted the elites and church members. They focused on liberal arts and combined Christian elements.
