A<u> Stem Changing Verb</u> is a verb that requires a replacement of a letter in their stem part of the verb when they are conjugated. For example, the verb <em>"cerrar"</em> changes from <em>"e"</em> to <em>"ie"</em> (<em>yo c</em><em>ie</em><em>rro</em>). However, when you conjugate the verb in the present tense using nosotros/nosotras and vosotros/vosotras the changes do not apply: <em>nosotros</em><em> cerramos; </em><em>vosotros</em><em> cerráis.</em>
