The difference between vowels in English and Spanish is in English, one vowel can make many sounds, while in Spanish one vowel makes one sound.
Example with vowel a:
English - Cap, balm, was, take.
Spanish - Nada, alguien, nunca.
Example with vowel e:
English - Feet, best.
Spanish - Quien, donde.
Example with vowel i:
English - Machine, stick.
Spanish - Si, tiempo
Example with vowel o:
English - Go, coffee, month
Spanish - Tengo, queso
Example with vowel u:
English - June, menu, cure, up
Spanish - Mundo, alguna
