Answer:

"building block of life"

Explanation:

One complete cell carries out all the functions necessary to sustain life at the microscopic level. The nucleus gives out instructions for how the cell would operate, where the chloroplast is responsible for carrying out the process of photosynthesis in plants to make food.

If 2 different people use the same dichotomous key on the same organism it’s only natural for them to have the same results. It wouldn’t make sense if they had different results unless one of them made an error.

Plasma membrane - protect cell from it's surroundings. In both kinds of cells.

Cytoplasm - supports rounded cell structure, within it are all the organelles. Contains chemicals needed by the cell. In both kinds of cells.

Nucleus - contains DNA and is the control center of the cell. In both kinds of cells.

Nuclear envelope - surrounds nucleus, makes sure important molecules (DNA) stay within the nucleus. In both cells.

Nucleolus - makes ribosomes. In both cells.

DNA - genetic information for development and function. In both cells.

Rough ER - produces proteins. In both cells.

Smooth ER - makes and stores lipids (fats). In both cells.

Golgi body - sort and process macromolecules (proteins, lipids, etc). In both cells.

Ribosomes - makes proteins. In both cells.

Vacuoles - very large in plants, a storage center. In both cells.

Lysosome - digests and removes wastes. In both cells.

Mitochondria - energy powerhouse, produce ATP energy. In both cells.

Cytoskeleton - shapes, supports, and facilitates movement. In both cells.

Centrioles - cell division (form spindle fibers). Only in animal cells.

Cilia - movement for microorganisms. Only in animal cells.

Chloroplasts - photosynthesis, helps absorb sunlight and make food for the plant. Only in plant cells.

Cell wall - strength, structure, filters molecules going in and out of the cell. Only in plant cells.

Central Vacuole - holds materials and wastes, helps maintain proper pressure within the cell. Only in plant cells.

Hope this helps!

Compare and contrast properties of sister chromatids and homologous chromosomes.
lubasha [3.4K]

Answer:

Explanation:

Sister chromatids are regarded as replicated chromosomes. Sister chromatids are two identical copies of chromosomes held at the centromere that are formed as a result of replication. They are identical in the sense that they contain same alleles/gene sequence of the same genes.

Homologous chromosomes, on the other hand, are similar (in length, centromere position) but non-identical chromosomes. Homologous are non-identical in the sense that they may contain different alleles of a gene and are received from each parent. homologous chromosome contain four chromatids; two of which are sister chromatids and non-sister to the other two.

Both undergo meiosis where homologous chromosomes separate in meiosis I while sister chromatids separate in meiosis II but only sister chromatids undergo mitosis.

Capsular hydrostatic pressure is the chief force pushing water and solutes out of the blood and across the filtration membrane.
frozen [14]

Answer:

False

Explanation:

Capsular hydrostatic pressure is not the main force that pushes water and solutes out of the blood and through the filtration membrane.  On the contrary, this pressure acts against the filtration membrane, making it difficult for water and solutes to escape from the blood.

Increasing this pressure decreases the infiltration rate and causes obstruction of the urinary tract that tends to accumulate urine, causing a lot of pain to the patient with  Renal Failure.
