Alissa keast: Attempt 1
Which is not an example of the Policy of Appeasement by European leaders in response to
Germany?
Montano1993 [528]

Of the examples given, an action that was not part of the policy of appeasement was 1942 Germany. Invaded Canada.

What was the policy of appeasement?

When Hitler became the leader of Germany, he began to engage in actions that would expand German territory.

European leaders such as Chamberlain did not want to risk another war and so let Hitler have some areas that he argued were theirs by ancestry.

Hitler never invaded Canada however so we cannot say that this was part of the policy of appeasement.

Give two powers from each of the following: Executive Branch, Judicial Branch, and Legislative Branch.
Naya [18.7K]

Answer:

Legislative: makes all laws, declares war, regulates interstate and foreign commerce and controls taxing and spending policies.

Executive: responsible for enforcing the laws of the land

Judicial: According to the Constitution, "[t]he judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish." The Federal Judicial Center is the education and research agency for the federal courts. They also interprets the laws. The state judges are elected by the citizens rather than being appointed.

(sorry about only 1 job for the Executive branch)

Which of the following BEST describes the concept of a pocket veto? A. The president vetoes a bill by ignoring it until Congress
miss Akunina [59]

The correct answer is A.

If the President refuses to sign the bill or to veto it, the bill becomes law, without his signature. The only exception to this rule is the "pocket veto" which is a process by which the Congress suspends its sessions after to send a bill to the President and given his refusal to take any action, the Congress dismisses the bill.
