Answer:

b = - 5

Step-by-step explanation:

(k + a )(k + x) +  1 = k^2 + kx + ak + ax + 1

I think the way to solve this is to worry about the 36

k^s + 1 + ak should equal 36

We know that a = 2

k^2 + 1 + 2k = 36

k^2 + 2k + 1 - 36 = 0

k^2 + 2k - 35 = 0

(k + 7)(k - 5) = 0

k = -7   is the only acceptable answer. It is given that K < 0.

bx = kx + ax

b = k + a

b = - 7 + 2

b = - 5

allochka39001 [22]

Answer:

Part 1) solution {(-5,8),(3,0)} ----> y+12=x^{2}+x and x+y=3

Part 2) No solutions ----> y-15=x^{2}+4x and x-y=1

Part 3) solution [(-2,5),(3,-5)] ---> y+5=x^{2}-3x and 2x+y=1

Part 4) No solutions ---> y-6=x^{2}-3x and x+2y=2

Part 5) solution [(2,3),(8,9)] --->y-17=x^{2}-9x and -x+y=1

Part 6) solution [(-2,3),(7,-6)] --->y-15=-x^{2}+4x and x+y=1

Step-by-step explanation:

Part 1) we have

y+12=x^{2}+x ----> equation A

x+y=3 ----> equation B

Solve by graphing

Remember that the solution of the system of equations is the intersection point both graphs

The solution are the points (-5,8) and (3,0)

see the attached figure N 1

Part 2) we have

y-15=x^{2}+4x ----> equation A

x-y=1 ----> equation B

Solve by graphing

Remember that the solution of the system of equations is the intersection point both graphs

The system has no solutions, because there is no point of intersection between the two graphs

see the attached figure N 2

Part 3) we have

y+5=x^{2}-3x ----> equation A

2x+y=1 ----> equation B

Solve by graphing

Remember that the solution of the system of equations is the intersection point both graphs

The solution are the points (-2,5) and (3,-5)

see the attached figure N 3

Part 4) we have

y-6=x^{2}-3x ----> equation A

x+2y=2 ----> equation B

Solve by graphing

Remember that the solution of the system of equations is the intersection point both graphs

The system has no solutions, because there is no point of intersection between the two graphs

see the attached figure N 4

Part 5) we have

y-17=x^{2}-9x ----> equation A

-x+y=1 ----> equation B

Solve by graphing

Remember that the solution of the system of equations is the intersection point both graphs

The solution are the points (2,3) and (8,9)

see the attached figure N 5

Part 6) we have

y-15=-x^{2}+4x ----> equation A

x+y=1 ----> equation B

Solve by graphing

Remember that the solution of the system of equations is the intersection point both graphs

The solution are the points (-2,3) and (7,-6)

see the attached figure N 6

What is 4.16666666 as an improper fraction?
omeli [17]

Answer:

416666666/100000000

Step-by-step explanation:

To write 4.16666666 as a fraction you have to write 4.16666666 as numerator and put 1 as the denominator. Now you multiply numerator and denominator by 10 as long as you get in numerator the whole number.

Miles traveled, miles to go, fill in the “?”
julsineya [31]

Answer:

The blank is 170

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio from miles traveled to miles to go is 1:-1

520-0=520

520-100=420

520-200=320

520-350=170

520-520=0

You have 1200 feet of fencing and you want to make two fenced in enclosures by splitting one enclosure in
NARA [144]

Let x = length and y = width

You would have 2 lengths, so 2x and 3 widths, so 3y

Those need to equal total length of fence:

2x + 3y = 1200

The 3 widths would equal total fence minus the 2 lengths:

3Y = 1200-2x

Solve for y: y = 400 -2/3x

Area = length x width = xy. Replace y :

Area = x(400-2/3x) = 400x-2/3x^2

Differentiate:

400-4x/3 =0

4x/3 = 400

4x = 1200

X = 300

Y = 400-2/3(300) = 200

The dimension would be 300 ft x 200 ft
