It is recommended that you work this out on graph paper to help answer the questions. Sean plots the locations of 4 places on a

coordinate grid as given below (It is recommended that you work this out on graph paper to help answer the questions.): His house is at (−4, 5). His school is at (−4, 3). The community center is at (6, 3). The grocery store is at (−4, −9). Part A: Use absolute values to calculate the distance in units from Sean's house to his school. Show your work. (4 points) Part B: Is the total distance from Sean's house to the school to the grocery store greater than the total distance from Sean's house to the school to the community center? Justify your answer. (6 points)

A) 2 units
B) yes

For A) |5-3|=|2|=2 is the distance from his house to school.

For B)
The distance from his house to school is 2 units; the distance from school to the grocery store is |3--9|=|12|=12.  The total distance is 2+12 = 14.

The distance from his house to school is 2 units; the distance from school to the community center is |-4-6|=|-10|=10.  The total distance is 2+10 = 12.

The distance from the house to the school to the grocery store is greater.

A quadrilateral has one pair of parallel sides with lengths 1 3/4 inches and 1 1/4 inches, and two angles that measure 36 degree
DIA [1.3K]

Answer:

  • <u><em>The name of the quadrilateral is</em></u><u> isosceles trapezoid.</u>

Explanation:

1) The two parallel sides of different legths 1\frac{3}{4} and 1\frac{1}{4} constitute the bases of a trapezoid.

2) The two equal anglesare the base angles of the trapezoid, and mean that it is an isosceles trapezoid.

An isosceles trapezoid is truncated isosceles triangle.

The definition of trapezoid is a quadrilateral with at least two parallel sides.

The drawing is attached: only the green lines represent the figure, the dotted lines just show how this is derived from an isosceles triangle.

The explicit formula for an arithmetic sequence is an = 20 + (n − 1)(2). What is the 200th term?
Andrews [41]

Answer:

a_{200}=418

Step-by-step explanation:

The explicit formula for an arithmetic sequence is given by :

a_n=20+(n-1)2 ...(1)

We need to find the 200th term of the sequence.

Put n = 200 in equation (1)

a_{200}=20+(200-1)2\\\\=20+199\times 2\\\\=418

So, the 200th term of the sequence is 418.
