Solve the system of equations using the substitution method.

Mathematics

Step-by-step explanation:

substitution is when you replace x with a number to find y, or vice versa. there is not one answer when doing this, its a series of answers.

for your question y=2x+1, we can substitue x with any number to find out y. any number, it can be random but i suggest starting with 1. you can also do negatives but like i said, 1 is the most basic.

Once you substitute x with 1, the equation turns to 2 times 1, since we substitued.

when x is next to a number, it means to multiply it.

2 times 1 is 2, and then '+1', is 3.

you can substitute this again with different numbers

example, if you subbed with 5, it would be

2 times 5, which is 10, +1 which is 11. that means y is 11.

this is the same method you can use for the second question. remember to substitute with atleast 5 numbers for your teacher to see :)

Which of the following constants can be added to x^2+2/3 to form a perfect square trinomial?
Lera25 [3.4K]

As your question is stated, there is no answer!

I'm going to assume the polynomial you meant is:

x^2 + \frac{2}{3} x

To create a perfect square trinomial, take half the coefficient of x and then square it.

\left( \frac{1}{2} \times \frac{2}{3} \right) ^2 = \left(\frac{1}{3} \right) ^2 =\frac{1}{9}

In all problems like this, you want to square half the coefficient of x -- always half.

Mean is 11.3 and the range is 4. Dont need to add 5 for all. Just do mean for the given options and add 5 at the end. Same with the range 9-5=4. Doesn’t change when you add 5 for all

XLiV represents 64 true ya false
V125BC [204]

Answer:

False

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

XLIV = 64

Required

True or False

The above numeral can be split as follows:

XLIV = XL + IV

X means 10 and L means 50.

But because X (10) which is smaller comes before L (50), XL is executed as:

XL = -10 + 50

XL = 40

In Roman numerals;

IV = 4

Substitute 40 for XL and 4 for IV.

XLIV = 40 + 4

XLIV = 44

Hence;

<em />XLIV = 64<em> is false</em>
