How is chemical weathering different from physical weathering?

Biology

The correct answer is - c. Physical weathering is mechanical breakdown, while chemical weathering involves the chemical breakdown of substances.

The physical weathering comes as more extreme, and it is a process where force is used in order for the rocks to break, while the chemical weathering is causing corrosion, usually on the surface, and it involves slow and gradual dissolving through the interactions of different chemicals with rocks.

For example, if water manages to penetrate into a rock, and when its cold it freezes, the ice starts to expand and increases its volume, thus creating huge pressure inside of the rock, and eventually breaks it into multiple pieces, and that is a physical weathering. On the other hand, if rain is a common occurrence, and a rock is exposed to it, the rain will start to oxidase it, and little by little weather the surface of the rock until it manages to totally destroy it over a long period of time, and that is a chemical weathering.

What does a scientist observe in a chemical's reaction rate? the speed at which the reactants change to products over a given ti
kvasek [131]

Answer:

The speed at which the reactants change to products over a given time.

Explanation:

A chemical's reaction rate is the change in the concentration of a reactant or a product with time (in moles per second).

Remember that during a chemical reaction, reactants are converted to products. Or what is the same, products are formed at the expense of reactants. This can be represented:

reactants → products

Therefore, the progress of a reaction can be followed measuring the decrease in concentration of the reactants or the increase in concentration of the products.

According to the temperature and other parameters, the reaction rate can increase or decrease.

How do the two types of endoplasmic reticulum differ?
xxTIMURxx [149]

Hi!

The two types of endoplasmic reticulum are:

Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum RER

Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum SER

The major difference between the two is the presence of ribosomes. The membrane of rough endoplasmic reticulum is bound by ribosomes, whereas the smooth endoplasmic reticulum is not bound by ribosomes.

Another difference lies in their function. RER is a storage house for proteins and is where the proteins are manufactured whereas SER is known for storing lipids and proteins both.

A genetic carrier is someone who
Nat2105 [25]

Answer:

The correct answer is option B. has a defective allele and normal phenotype.

Explanation:

Genetic carrier or the hereditary carrier is an organism or a person that has a recessive allele for a particular trait or character (generally mutation) but does not exhibit the trait or any character related to the trait.

The carriers are normal in the sex-linked characters in comparison to the autosomal traits. Females are generally the carrier for sex-linked characters and carry the allele to the next generation.

Thus, the correct answer is option B. has a defective allele and normal.
