The following five limiting factors would control the
population density of weeds;

I would go for 'c'. The reason being, is that it doesn't do much, and I am also assuming that offshore drilling will not affect underwater sources, which are linked to the ocean.
Just say we have a big amount of tryptophan in the sense that it exceeds, tryptophan would act as a co-repressor which prevents synthesis of more enzymes for its production
