What is true about the completely simplified sum of the polynomials 3x2y2 − 2xy5 and −3x2y2 + 3x4y?
Elanso [62]

Answer:

The sum is a binomial with a degree of 6

Step-by-step explanation:

we have

(3x^{2}y^{2}-2xy^{5})+(-3x^{2}y^{2}+3x^{4}y)

Group terms that contain the same variable

(3x^{2}y^{2}-3x^{2}y^{2})-2xy^{5}+3x^{4}y

0-2xy^{5}+3x^{4}y

-2xy^{5}+3x^{4}y

The sum is a binomial ( two terms) with a degree of 6

-2xy^{5} has a degree of 6 (x has an exponent of 1, y has 5, and 1+5=6)

Simplify(7x^-2x+5)-(3x^2+4x+10)<br> show all steps
ad-work [718]
If we are looking to simplify two trinomials, it is easiest to put them on top of each other and subtract.

   7x²  - 2x  + 5                      7x² - 2x + 5
- (3x² + 4x + 10)                  -3x² - 4x - 10

4x² - 6x - 5

A bag of apples weighs 7 7/8 pounds. By weight, 1/15 of the apples are rotten. What is the weight of the good apples?
siniylev [52]
The good apples are 14/15 of the total apples. So multiply the total apples by the weight of good ones to find the solution. \frac{63}{8}*\frac{14}{15} = \frac{294}{40} = 7\frac{7}{20}lbs
