The test cross is a cross, which is performed to determine the genotype of a given organism. in this case, the individual is crossed with homozygous recessive organism

In case the plant is showing a dominant phenotype, then it can either be homozygous or heterozygous dominant. On crossing with homozygous recessive individual, the homozygous dominant individual produces all dominant offspring, whereas, the heterozygous dominant produces 50% dominant offspring and 50% recessive offspring. Hence, by observing the result of the test cross, one can determine the genotype of the plant.

The tertiary structure of a protein is the:________. a. organization of a polypeptide into a corkscrew-like shape or a zigzag fo
Setler [38]

Answer:

e. unique three-dimensional shape of the fully folded polypeptide.

Explanation:

The tertiary structure of a protein is the unique three-dimensional structure which emanates from the interaction between the “R groups” of the several amino acids that make up the polypeptide. Hydrogen bonding is one of the interactions that occur that gives the protein this structure. Other interactions are ionic bonding, dipole-dipole interactions, hydrophobic interactions, among others. The function of a protein is dependent on its tertiary structure, as a disruption of the tertiary structure causes a protein to be denatured, thereby rendering the protein not functional.
