Which values of p and q would make the value of the following expression equal to 29i? (2 – 5i)(p + q)i A.p = 2, q = 5i B.p = –2
nikdorinn [45]
(2-5i)(p+q)i=29i \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ |\div i \\
(2-5i)(p+q)=29 \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ |\div (2-5i) \\
p+q=\frac{29}{2-5i} \\ \\
\overline{\underline{\frac{29}{2-5i}=\frac{29(2+5i)}{(2-5i)(2+5i)}=\frac{29(2+5i)}{2^2-(5i)^2}=\frac{29(2+5i)}{4-25i^2}=\frac{29(2+5i)}{4+25}=\frac{29(2+5i)}{29}=2+5i}} \\ \\
p+q=2+5i

In your answer options p is a real number and q is an imaginary number, so p=2 and q=5i.

The answer is A.

Which ordered pair is the solution of the system of equations? 3x+2y=4, -2+2y=24, I need help Im very confused on how to solve t
Juliette [100K]

Answer:

x = -7.33        OR         x = \frac{-22}{3}

y = 13

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>→You can use the substitution method. First, make y by itself in (-2 + 2y = 24):</u>

-2 + 2y = 24

2y = 26

y = 13

<u>→Then, plug in 13 for y into the other equation:</u>

3x + 2y = 4

3x + 2(13) = 4

3x + 26 = 4

3x = -22

x = -7.33        OR         x = \frac{-22}{3}
