Solving for each variable ----- Let's see :)
12) Solve for d -Since you know that a variable next to a number means to multiply, we'll do the opposite since we have the unknown value -
12d = 216
216 ÷ 12 = 18
d = 18
13) This one is a little different, since we have decimals.
71.5 = 5.5u
We still divide 71.5 by 5.5 and see what we get.
71.5 ÷ 5.5 = 13 (A whole number)
u = 13
14) Divide the first fractions numerator by its denominator - Leave out the variable.
5/6 = 0.83
Do the same to the other fraction
5/14 = 22.8
Divide your 2 decimals.
0.83 ÷ 0.22 = 3.77
x = 3.77
15) 44 = t/11
I think you would multiply 44 by 11 because since a fraction means to divide and we have an unknown value we do the opposite.
44 × 11 = 484
484 ÷ 11 = 44
t = 484
7.8x = 23.4
16) Divide each decimal to get what the value of x is
7.8 ÷ 23.4 = 3
x = 3
17) 53 = r/4
Multiply 53 by 4 to get what r is
53 × 4 = 212
r = 212
↑ ↑ ↑I hope all of this helped you!
TIP - If you want to check your work, make sure you just switch in the variables with the numbers I gave you! :D
